Local Recycling with Global Solutions
About us
Our Story
From Surplus to Sustainable Solutions
Established in 2002 as Surplus Conveyors, we began tackling the challenge of repurposing end-of-life conveyor belts which were in abundance from Western Australia’s booming mining industry. Over our first decade, we successfully diverted more than 160,000 tonnes of material from landfill, converting heavy-duty belts into durable, anti-slip flooring solutions for agricultural industries around the world, particularly in the dairy and equestrian sectors.
Driven by a bigger vision for rubber recycling, we evolved into RubberGem. We’re not just another recycler, we manufacture high-performance, ready-to-use rubber products right here in our East Rockingham facility, turning Western Australian tyre and conveyor waste into engineered solutions for domestic and international markets. With purpose-built facilities, advanced devulcanisation technology, robotic curing presses, and a skilled team of 130 at our new East Rockingham site, we process a wide range of rubber waste and deliver products built to perform across agriculture, construction, transport, and beyond.
Today, RubberGem stands as a proud West Australian company, home to the nation’s largest rubber recycling site, delivering sustainable solutions that create real impact at home and abroad.
RubberGem recycled rubber products are used worldwide.

Our Values
What We Stand For and Why It Matters
Waste is not our business. Progress is. Everything we create, every partnership we build, and every process we improve is guided by the values that shape who we are and how we work.
People
We are powered by a team of passionate problem-solvers who believe waste can do more. We value diversity, support one another, and bring real-world experience to every project.
Quality
We know rubber inside and out. Our recycled products are built to perform in the toughest environments. From agricultural sheds to civil construction sites, quality is not a bonus. It is the baseline.
Technology
Innovation is how we move forward. We combine research, practical insight, and smart technology to turn today's waste into lasting solutions.
Safety
We take safety seriously. From the factory floor to the field, we follow strict OH&S standards and build a culture where safety comes first. Everyone goes home safe. That is the rule
“RubberGem is a proud Australian company committed to creating a better world for future generations whilst supporting and supplying the agricultural, commercial, & civil construction industries.
For 20 years we’ve been at the forefront of technology to recycle valuable waste rubber into durable products used in over 20 countries throughout Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania, and I look forward to growing our global presence in the years to come.”

Recycling with Real Impact
We don’t just recycle rubber. We reimagine what it can do.
At RubberGem, recycling isn’t the end goal, it’s the starting point for lasting change. We exist to reduce waste and protect the planet, and we take that responsibility seriously. Every step of our process is designed to deliver measurable, meaningful environmental outcomes:
- Fewer Carbon Emissions: Our rubber recycling processes can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 700 kilograms of CO₂ for every tonne of tyre input.
- Cleaner Air: By capturing and reusing sulphur found in tyres, we help minimise the risk of acid rain and air pollution.
- Less Deforestation: Our engineered recycled rubber products reduce reliance on virgin rubber materials and natural resources, helping to protect forests and fragile ecosystems.
- Reduced Mining Demand: We recover and reuse steel from tyres and conveyor belts, reducing the need for raw material extraction like iron ore.
Every product that leaves our East Rockingham facility keeps waste out of landfill and ensures valuable materials remain in circulation. It’s real impact, made right here in WA, and built for the future.
